This video looks at how equally weighted index funds have beaten traditional market-weighted index funds over long periods of time across various sectors around the world. Since they have been created many investors have preferred to use an equally weighted fund because they have been concerned about the index fund stock market bubble that pushes more money into large companies and inflates their share price. Now the question is, should we all move to this kind of way of investing or are there also downsides we need to look at? This video looks at the data and I’ll give you my thoughts at the end. The ETFs referenced in the video include VOO, VUSA and RSP (VOO and RSP are for US investors only, us UK folks would need a UCITS ETF)
